A small shop, helping small businesses.
Icy Owl Design is a small team in Ludington, Michigan, helping shops, tradespeople, and family businesses around Mason County and across the continental U.S. — with everything you need to get started, get found, and stay organized.
We're a small business too.
Icy Owl came to this the long way around. Our founder started out as a bookkeeper by trade, but over the years wore a lot of hats — managing websites, then building them for the companies they worked for, and even helping one employer work through all the paperwork of getting a brand-new business up and running.
Somewhere along the way, the same kinds of favors started happening for friends — sorting out the setup and the paperwork, getting a first website off the ground, and figuring out all the little things that come with turning an idea into an actual business. And we kept noticing how many small businesses in our area don't have a website at all, have one that no longer represents them, or just need a hand with the behind-the-scenes pieces.
So that mix of skills became Icy Owl: a small team helping businesses get started, get found, and stay organized — for the people we know and the people they send our way. Too many great small businesses were getting talked into big, complicated services they didn't need, or juggling five different people for things one dedicated person could handle. They deserve better.
We know how much every dollar matters when you run your own shop. Our pricing is deliberately fair and straightforward — the goal was never to become a big agency, just to be an affordable option and a team you can actually reach when you need help. And because one person handles every part of your project from first conversation to final handoff, you'll never have to repeat yourself or wonder who's on it. When the website, the books, and the paperwork are all handled by someone you trust, it feels good. That's what we're here to help with.
Plain and simple.
We talk
A short conversation about your business and what you need help with — a website, the books, the paperwork. No pressure.
We get to work
You'll see progress early and often. We handle the pieces you don't want to, in clear, friendly terms — not at you.
We keep going
When it's done, we're done — but we stick around. Website updates, monthly books, whatever you need next.
Helping small businesses from coast to coast
Icy Owl works remotely with businesses throughout the continental United States, with personal support that still feels close to home.
